Read Part 1 of the sound story aloud to the students if they are not familiar with it. Part 2 of the sound story will be introduced one section at a time while students are working through Book 1.
The charts provide a daily review of phonics patterns that have been taught. Students practice saying the sounds for each letter or letter pattern, first from the charts, and then from flashcards. When saying the sounds on the charts, the picture cues will help students remember the correct sounds with confidence. When saying the sounds from flashcards, students will have to remember the sound without help from the sound pictures.
The books at Level 4 include the alphabet charts from Levels 1, 2, and 3. As you move from one book to the next at Level 4, the previous letter patterns and charts will be included along with any new letter patterns and charts.
