It is my goal that this program will be widely shared so that as many students as possible will be able to use it to learn to read.
All of the Sound City Reading materials are copyrighted. They are available as free PDF files on this site. I give permission to parents, teachers, tutors, schools, school systems, and tutoring organizations to download, save, and print them for their own students or their own children. You may have them printed at a print shop if you don't have a printer. You may use as many files as you wish. School wide and system wide use is permitted.
This permission applies to both in-person instruction and online instruction. It includes the use of printed materials and also the use of the PDF files on a computer screen, projector, or white board. The materials may be used for online teaching including virtual classroom instruction, google slides, power point presentations, and any other appropriate online teaching methods.
All other uses, including reproduction for commercial sales, are prohibited, unless given specific individual written permission to do so by the author, Kathryn J. Davis. You may reach me at [email protected].
You may add the web address for this site, www.soundcityreading.net, to your own website and emails if you wish. You may also publish links to any of the individual pages on this site so that specific materials can be found more easily.
To access the files, click on PDF FILES on the main menu. You'll open a page with the links you need to access the PDF files. Or hover over the PDF FILES menu heading to see a drop down menu. Click on the subheading with the materials you're looking for.
Creating Your Own Supplementary Sound City Reading Materials
I give permission to persons who are using this program to create additional materials to compliment this reading instruction, as needed. This may include alternate formats for the wall charts, booklets, tests, games, and any other practice materials.
My picture files are available to use when creating supplementary reading materials. Click on PICTURES on the main menu to open a page with each available group of files, or hover over PICTURES to see a drop down menu. Each link will download a zip file to your computer that contains multiple images. You won't be able to see the images on your computer until the file is unzipped. To unzip the file, double click on it. Click Extract all. Select the location where you want to store the file, make sure the Show extracted files when complete box is checked, then click Extract. Now you will be able to open the file and see and use the pictures.
