High Frequency Sight Word Cards
Reading Street Grade 1
I made these large high frequency cards to post on the wall or to use as flashcards. The vowel patterns are printed in color. Each individual color represents a particular sound. Colors that are the same have the same sound. Colors that are different show different sounds.

Phonogram Cards
Reading Street Grade 1
These cards show the phonics patterns taught at the first grade level, in the order in which they are introduced. The cards can be printed in two different fonts.
Visual Learning - Go through the cards daily, showing only the patterns that have been taught so far, going in order. Students say the sound for each pattern, in unison.
Auditory Learning - Go through the same cards again, in the same order. This time, the students don't see the patterns. The teacher says each sound. Students listen, repeat the sound and write the pattern from memory on lined paper.

Picture/Word Cards
Reading Street Grade 1
When printed, the short a, e, i, and o picture/word files will make four identical sets of cards. The short u picture/word file will make one set of cards.
Print the word pages on pastel blue card stock. Turn the pages over and run them through the printer again, printing the picture pages on the back of the word pages. Be sure to print both sides of just one page first, to make sure you are feeding the pages in the printer correctly and the words and pictures are in the proper place.
