Step Charts
These charts show the five instructional levels and general age guidelines for each level. Click on either chart to enlarge it.
The chart on the right shows the books that are used at each level. At levels three and four the teacher will choose which books to use from several choices, which include books printed in all black print and books that have the vowels and vowel patterns printed in specific colors.
