Level 1 And Level 2 Sound Charts
For Learning The Alphabet And Exploring Sounds In Words
Instructions: Click on the triangle on the black bar to begin audio playback. Scroll down to see the remaining charts.
Read Part 1 of the Sound Story aloud to the students and practice saying the sounds for the sound pictures before introducing the following charts. First students will practice saying the sounds for each letter from the charts. Then they will say each letter sound from flashcards. When saying the sounds on the charts, the picture cues will help students remember the correct sounds with confidence. When saying the sounds from flashcards, students will have to remember the letter sound without help from the sound pictures.
As you work through the Learning The Alphabet books and Exploring Sounds In Words books, you will teach one new letter at a time. While students are learning the alphabet for the first time, point to only the letters that have been taught when doing the sound charts. When working with the flashcards, show only the letters that have been taught.
